The second part of A Long Time Between Suns took place at The Showroom's new location in London and premiered Otolith III (2009), the final film in The Otolith Trilogy co-produced by The Showroom and Gasworks. The international hearings, commissions and show trials that originate from the tribunal have always demonstrated an affinity for the moving image because they depend on a public audience for their existence; the presence of cameras has already been written into their mise en scene. This conversation between Eyal Sivan and The Otolith Group takes Sivan's research into the politics of memory as a point of departure for an exploration of rarely seen films by Marcel Ophuls, Costa Gavras and others. Route 181: Fragments of a Journey in Palestine-Israel (Eyal Sivan and Michel Khleifi, 270 min, 2004) at The Showroom. The Showroom is an independent contemporary art space that is dedicated to exploring emerging practices and ideas in the context of cutting-edge contemporary culture. Since 1984 The Showroom has supported artists at pivotal stages of their careers, often by offering them their first solo exhibition, giving individual practices visibility. From 2009 onwards, its programme broadened to encompass a greater emphasis on discursive and process-based practices, cross-disciplinary approaches, forms of research, projects that are situated in the public realm, and collaborations on local and international levels.
